Systems Engineer

Job Summary: The Network/Systems Engineer is part of a team responsible for the design and daily administration of all networked systems architecture that provides service for QTC applications. Also responsible for formulating recommendations for improving network and server efficiency, audit systems to verify compliance and standards, supporting the development for new applications as well as the modification of current applications, and other duties in support of the IT Systems Engineering team and the QIT department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in the identification of system requirements, design, development and implementation of the automated processes Provide ongoing technical support for the current systems and applications used by QTC which is not limited to: Network (NW), Server (HW) and OS Maintenance for operational servers Router and Switch maintenance and deployment Interface and control of our Service Provider Network Teams Network and server maintenance including capacity planning, and upgrades and installations. Provide assistance in new designs, disaster recovery and vendor management Involved in identifying key areas for potential system automation Analyze and research IT processes to identify potential system automation Develop documentation to support the use of hardware, software, and telecommunication products Work independently or as a member of a team in a variety of roles from providing assistance to assuming task leadership Researching and maintaining patches and firmware upgrades and provisioning/maintenance of software Software and hardware ordering and maintenance of inventory systems License tracking, performing user setup, log file maintenance and monitor system performance for capacity planning. Knowledge of application integration including validation of deployment guide for scalability, system design / architecture, performance, Security (e.g. NIST, FISMA, HIPAA) Perform and verify storage / backups of systems configuration files and logs (SAN, CommVault, NetApp-Data OnTap) Provide advisory services as to proper usage of networksecurity, etc, to ensure a successful implementation and integration of these products Assist with current architecture, as well as keeping updated with on-going changes. This also includes but is not limited to: design, test and implement changes and one-offs Help Desk Support to include Tier 3 advanced network, application and system support as needed Some of the core activities and technology platform knowledge necessary for this position include: Exchange 2010 / Active Directory Windows Operating System System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Microsoft Hyper-V Microsoft SQL Server Cluster Available for emergency on-call IT support rotation Other duties and projects as assigned Competencies: Must possess excellent quantitative and analytical skills - Programming and/or scripting a plus Excellent understanding of technical processes as a whole Must be self motivated and detail oriented with excellent follow up skills Must possess strong interpersonal skills in order to work in a diverse, dynamic and fast-paced environment Possess an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving Must be adaptable and flexible to accommodate changes in QTC's business strategies Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies Must have a solid understanding of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 2000 & 2003 and beyond Education and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses) Server Systems Requirements: Systems Administration experience Possession of an MCSE Certification is a plus Experience working with various hardware and software platforms not limited to PCs, laptops, switches, and routers Cisco Certifications (CCNA - REQ) (CCNP, CCDA, CCSP, CCNA Voice or CCVP) a plus Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation This job description supersedes all prior job descriptions and is intended to describe the general content and essential requirements for the position listed above. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
